Is delivery fresh or frozen?

Different farmers use different couriers and logistics to get your delivery to your door. If you prefer a product chilled delivery or frozen delivery you can use the advanced filters to find the perfect product for you.

What’s in the box?

That’s entirely up to you. But remember when you order you are ordering direct from farmers. We are not a centralised ‘supermarket’ box. Each farm is responsible for their products and orders

Is Farmer To Fridge A Subscription?

Absolutely not. Our farmers do such a good job that we don’t need to lock you into a subscription to get people to come back. We offer something for everybody, and our network of farms is growing every day.

What is Farmer To Fridge?

Farmer To Fridge is a platform of farmers selling their products directly to you. We are essentially an order booking system that helps you find a farm to support. Most of that F2F does happens in the background, helping farmers with their marketing and sales, as well as our technology platform to support ordering and fulfillment. Farmers are independent from one another – you just choose the one that is right for you!

Freezer Space

I have a small freezer, what can I order?

Farmer To Fridge works with farmers to bring customer sized solutions. You can order boxes from 5kg, up to a full side of beef. Simply enter your postcode, then use the advanced filter button and select your freezer size.

How long will the meat last in my freezer?

Most of the farms on the platform vacuum seal their meat. If vac sealed, most meat will last 1 to 2 years in your freezer.

Locations

Where are you located?

Our company is based in Australia (Brukunga!), however our network of farmers is national. Each farm lists their state and suburb right next to the farms. If you’re ordering meat, you may notice that the pickup suburb isn’t always the same as the farm suburb as meat must be processed at a registered abattoir and butcher. Usually these are not located on farm.

Australian Made

Are your products Australian?

Absolutely. All of the farms on the platform are IN Australia! We don’t believe that importing food from around the world is good for our local industries or the planet. I don’t care how green the box is, salmon from Canada shouldn’t be a thing.

Farmers

Do your farmers get paid fairly?

That’s mostly up to them. Farmer to Fridge is a platform to help farmers sell direct to you. While we do make money (it is a business after all) we only get paid if a farmer makes a sale. The farmers set their own prices and decide what they want to sell. At the end of the day we can’t MAKE you buy anything, but if you do make a purchase, you know it’s a price the farm is happy with!

Deliveries

How do deliveries work?

Different farms have different approaches to delivery. Some use refrigerated 3rd party couriers, some do deliveries themselves! All meat delivers by law are required to be shipped in accredited refrigerated vehicles. Delivery notifications are done via the farm and 3rd party courier services for most farms, however we are expanding our delivery notifications into our Famer to Fridge app. As we continue to grow and build our platform we will bring more functionality and transparency to the delivery process.

Where do you deliver?

We are a marketplace platform, so our delivery areas are determined by the farmers on the platform. Some deliver all over Australia, while some just deliver to their local area. If you click onto the shop page and then enter your suburb you’ll see all the farms who deliver to you.

Allergens and Additives

Are your products gluten free?

Some are, some are not. To find gluten free products, simply click on the shop page and enter your suburb. You can then use the advanced filter button to show you products that are only gluten free. You can also download the allergen information PDF (Farmer supplied and not independently verified by Farmer To Fridge) directly on the product page.

Are your products preservative free?

Some are, some are not. To find products free of preservatives, simply click on the shop page and enter your suburb. You can then use the advanced filter button to show you products that are only preservative free. You can also download the allergen information PDF (Farmer supplied and not independently verified by Farmer To Fridge) directly on the product page. This document usually contains the complete list of ingredients in items like sausages.

Vaccines and MRNA

Are your products Vaccine Free?

Every farm in Australia is different. Vaccines can be an essential part of farming protecting. However, we recognise that many consumers are looking to avoid animals that are vaccinated as part of their diet. To show only farms who are vaccine free, simply click on the shop page and enter your suburb. You can then use the advanced filter button to show you products that are vaccine free.

Do your farmers use MRNA?

At the time of writing, no farms on the Farmer to Fridge platform use MRNA Every farm in Australia is different. Vaccines can be an essential part of farming protecting. However, we recognise that many consumers are looking to avoid animals that are vaccinated as part of their diet. To show only farms who are vaccine free, simply click on the shop page and enter your suburb. You can then use the advanced filter button to show you products that are MRNA free.

Bovear

Do your farmers use Bovear?

At the time of writing, no farms on the Farmer to Fridge platform use Bovear. Every farm in Australia is different. Some farms and industries are using Bovear to reduce their methane emissions. However, we recognise that many consumers are looking to avoid animals that are vaccinated as part of their diet To show only farms who are Bovear free, simply click on the shop page and enter your suburb. You can then use the advanced filter button to show you products that are Bovear free.

Support

How do I get support?

The best way is to get support is to lodge a ticket. This notifies the farm AND Farmer To Fridge. We can keep an eye on the responses from the farm, and if you are unable to reach a suitable resolution we will intervene and make a binding decision on both parties. This does not happen very often as most farmers to the right thing. Of course, this process does not replace or remove any rights you have under Australian Law.
